Merle Frenchies for sale
Merle Frenchies for sale are available in many colors, just like shopping for your favorite color car, bike, or clothing! Through selective breeding over the years, Frenchie Breeders have isolated this color pattern gene. You can find any color Merle that is also available as a solid color dog nowadays. There are many, many different colors and coat types of French bulldog puppies for sale and many are different kinds of Merle.
Blue Merle French bulldog puppies
A blue Merle french bulldog is just one of many types of them. Another beautiful color option is the Lilac Merle French bulldog. The merle gene allows for a broken pattern on an otherwise solid coated or solid colored dog.
Merles can have a lot of base coat color, or be completely speckled! Based on the percentage in the one parent who is visually merle, will dictate the amount of base coat color versus the broken portion of the coat. Dogs can also be “with tan point” or “tricolor” meaning they have tan points, and tan cheeks, eyebrows etc, or the latter with a white chest.
Merle was once a rare Frenchie Color
Among all rare Frenchie colors is the Merle including all of it’s variants. Blue solid Frenchies bred to a Frenchie that carries Merle will lead to some blue merles for example. A great color combo no doubt, these are breathtaking from the moment they are born. To get on a waiting list for a BM we recommend emailing us and seeing if we have any spots available for upcoming litters that will carry these color combinations.
Lilac Merle French bulldog puppies for sale
Yet another variant of the Merle gene is the Lilac Merle Frenchie. As cool as the blue but even lighter in color, the Lilacs are just breathtaking. Most blue and Lilac Merle keep their blue eyes that they are born with throughout their lives. Usually darked pigmented dogs will retain a darker shade of blue iris. Lilacs are goregous and just lighter in color than blues so people seem to seek them a bit more than blues.
Frenchie Breeders
With so many types of Merle Frenchie puppies, you can never be sure that you’ve counted them all. Another great color that is beautiful and breathtaking is the Isabella Merle Frenchie. This is available as a fluffy frenchie as well as a non fluffy. Isabella Frenchie can cost quite a bit as well due to how rare they are. Isabellas are super rare and therefore the price is going to be higher than most other colors. Isabella as well as Rojo and new shade fluffies are going to be some of the most expensive of all the rare frenchie colors.
Choose your favorite base coat
Just like buying a new car, these beautiful pups are available as many variations of the merle gene! Whether you like blue, lilac, Isabella, Rojo, Cocoa, Chocolate, new shade, or even black, there are countless colors. For example, our Elon is a blue and tan Merle French bulldog carrying fluffy. He has tan points which we refer to as “orange tan” as they are deep in color. Other tan pointed dogs may have double “dilute” genes that has very soft, less intense tan points.
Are Merle French Bulldogs recognized by the AKC?
Yes, and no. They are 100% able to be registered with full AKC Frenchie paperwork. At the same time, when you go to choose the color, you will realize “there is no merle option to check”. This does not mean they are not able to have full AKC paperwork, it just means you have to choose colors that do not include Merle as an option.
For example, your dog is a blue Merle. You end up choose a blue base coat, with white. At some point in the next 2-3 years we do expect AKC to update their options to include varieties of merle from the color choices for Frenchies.
