Merle French Bulldog puppies
Merle French Bulldog puppies are some of the most unique of all Frenchie Puppies. Available in many, many shades and color combinations, no two are alike. The Merle gene is considered dominant, therefore only one of the two parents need to carry it. Unless a dog is platinum (white) merle is a visual color gene. This means that if one of the two parents are visually merle (or platinum merle where it is hidden) at least 50% of the puppies will also be Merle.
Merle Frenchie Puppies
The popularity of this French bulldog color is growing each year as breeders develop different color combinations within the Merle spectrum. For example, this year we produced 2 “Rojo Merle Frenchie puppies”. These for us were a first and they sold for quite a bit of money due to their extreme rarity. Like any other breed of dog, when they are rare they will be harder to find, buy, and afford. Rojo French Bulldogs now available as a merle are going to be close to the top of the Frenchie price chart.
Rare Frenchie Colors
Previous to this, the rarest of the merle family was the Isabella Merle French Bulldog. Some of the different colors and combinations will be discussed below along with pictures for reference. If you are considering purchasing a Merle Frenchie from us, we recommend doing a puppy deposit so you are in line for our next litter. We produce just about 1 litter every 6 weeks for a total of 8 to 10 litters a year.
Blue Merle French bulldog puppies
A blue Merle french bulldog is just one of many types of them. Blues are similar to lilac, just darker. Some people consider the blues cooler to look at as they have more of a contrast than the others. All of these colors are also available with tan points. These are named or labeled as “blue and tan mere” or “lilac and tan” etc.
Among all rare Frenchie colors is the Merle including all of it’s variants. Blue solid Frenchies bred to a Frenchie that carries Merle will lead to some blue merles for example. A great color combo no doubt, these are breathtaking from the moment they are born. Lilac Merle French bulldogs
Yet another variant of the Merle gene is the Lilac Merle Frenchie. As cool as the blue but even lighter in color, the Lilacs are just breathtaking. Most blue and Lilac Merle keep their blue eyes that they are born with throughout their lives. Usually darked pigmented dogs will retain a darker shade of blue iris. Lilacs are gorgeous and just lighter in color than blues so people seem to seek them a bit more than blues. Lastly, a Lilac Merle French bulldog will basically be a diluted version of the blue, with the same style broken pattern on an otherwise solid coated or solid colored dog.
Isabella Merle French Bulldog
Just a couple of years ago, the Isabella Merle Frenchie was considered the rarest of the rare. Now they are becoming more common with time. Same goes for the new shade version, which is just a lighter version of the original color. New shade or just plain Isabella merle French bulldogs for sale. The Isabella Merle French bulldog price is considered on the medium to medium high side now that is more common. Of all Merle Frenchie puppies, blues will be cheapest in price where as Rojo will probably be the most expensive.
Rojo Merle Frenchie
As of this web page publication, the Rojo Merle is going to be the most expensive and rarest, besides the fluffy French bulldog version. Basically a Rojo is a chocolate with only one copy of blue. This allows for the reddish chocolate coat now referred to as the Rojo. Beautiful and stunning to look at, especially for the first time, these are amazing looking dogs! We are working behind the scenes to increase our ability to produce more Rojo pups with each breeding. While not easy, working with the rarest color genetics is something we are passionate about while maintaining the health, structure and temperament that we believe is so important!
