Fully grown, the average, healthy weight for a French Bulldog is 16-27 pounds, and they stand approximately 10-12 inches tall at the shoulder. The average French Bulldog lifespan is 11-14 years, but life expectancy can be affected by many factors such as genetics, and diet.

Do blue French Bulldogs shed a lot?

It depends on the breeder and the genetics. Frenchies can carry 1, 2 or zero copies of the LPS gene. This gene is called the “low propensity to shed” gene. A dog with zero copies will shed a lot while a dog with one copy can shed moderately.

Lastly, a puppy that carries 2 copies of this LPS gene like all of our dogs, will not shed nearly at all. We have 5 Frenchies in our home and we do not have any dog fur anywhere.
