Now the most popular and considered one of the most rare French bulldog colors is Rojo. Did you know that Rojo is a variation of Isabella, which is a variation of chocolate not to be confused with cocoa?  Starting with the rare color of chocolate, a Rojo Frenchie has basically the same color code DNA as a Chocolate puppy, minus one copy of blue.

When one copy of blue is missing it allows the coat to be more of a vibrant redder chocolate.  Other versions of Rojo are available now, referred to as “new shade rojo” which is a lighter variation of this popular shade of Red Chocolate Frenchie.

AKC French Bulldog puppies

Newer than the color Isabella is Rojo.  Previous to Rojo, Isabella Frenchie was one of the most popular and newest of all colors of the Frenchie puppy. Isabella also depends on the same color gene (testable chocolate) as Rojo, as does New Shade.  If you are searching for the perfect little Isabella French bulldog keep in mind they are going to be more expensive than common colors.  Also available is the amazing Isabella Merle and New shade.

Isabella French Bulldog Puppies

Usually we have 1 or 2 Isabella French bulldogs available in all of our litters as our moms and dads carry the testable chocolate gene, which provides the Isabella shade.  Keep in mind that the Merle version is also amazing and just stunning! The merle Isa will be around the same price as the normal Isabella French bulldog puppies for sale.  New shade versions of both Isabella and Rojo mean a brighter, lighter colored version of the same “paint job”.

Frenchie Breeders

While French Bulldog breeders are a dime a dozen, finding a quality AKC Frenchie Breeder is not as easy as it sounds! Since these small and cute dogs don’t take up much space and are easy to keep.  This unfortunately has flooded the French bulldog puppy market with low quality pups produced by hobby breeders.  Hobby Frenchie breeders just do not have the capital, experience and know how to produce a puppy that improves the breed standard.  Most of these pups are longer, taller, have long tails and projected muzzles.  The AKC is still limited on which colors can be chosen when you register but Rojos are 100% AKC registered of course with full papers.
