From time to time, we will offer some beautiful fluffy french bulldog puppies to approved homes.  Since they are so rare, our Furry French Bulldog parents cost in the neighborhood of 30-65k per dog.  This means the furry French Bulldog price will be significantly higher than even the other rare colors.

Keep in mind these are going to be amazing pups and absolutely as stunning visually as they are rare.  Of course the Furry Frenchie price is higher than normal hair length Frenchies as they are much more rare, and the parents more expensive for the French bulldog breeders to aqquire.

Like all other Frenchies, Furry French Bulldog Price depends on the rare and many different colors including all of the common and rare French Bulldog colors.  Furry French bulldog genetics are fun to work with and we are able to create some of the most amazing long-haired frenchie colors you will ever see.  These pups are available in all the colors of the normal Frenchie.  This includes blue, black, blue tan, black tan, lilac, lilac tan, all merle colors, Isabella and even Rojo.

While they are all gorgeous, the rarer colors of fluffy frenchies will cost more than the more common.  For example, a Lilac tan Fluffy will cost more than a brindle fluffy.  At the same time, a Isabella Fluffy will cost more than a Lilac Fluff.  Common questions concerning the long haired version of the Frenchie are below.

How much is a furry Frenchie worth?

Coat colors like Lilac, Blue, and Isabella can increase the price of a Fluffy Frenchie due to their rarity and high demand. Traditional colors for furry French bulldog puppies for sale are usually priced at approximately $9,000 USD to $15,000 USD.  That is the lower end of the price point for fluffy.
On the other hand, puppies with the more rare colors such as Isabella, Rojo, and lilac tan as well as merle can cost up to 19,000 USD.  Pups with pet AKC paperwork will be cheaper than pups with full AKC registration.

Are furry Frenchies rare?

Yes, they are considered rare when compared to the normal coat length dog.  The reason for this is due to the rare furry coat.  The L1 and L4 hair length genes control this genetic “hair length allele” not commonly found in the French bulldog breed. Overall, the rareness of this long haired gene, combined with the high demand for Fluffy Frenchies, has led to their higher price tag when compared to non fluffy Frenchies.

Can furry Frenchies for sale still be AKC registered?

Accordingly, the AKC breed standard for Furry French Bulldogs is short hair with standard colors of  white, fawn, cream, brindle, or combinations of any of those two colors.  At the time of this article, other colors like Merle, pied, and other colors while offered as color choices during paperwork registration, they are still not AKC breed standard. With that said, long-haired French Bulldogs can be registered with the AKC, but they can’t be shown

Are furry Frenchies high maintenance?

In general, Frenchie dogs for sale don’t shed much or need excessive grooming. However but some that have larger wrinkles will need to be cleaned from time to time.  This is to keep their ears and folds clean as they can be prone to developing skin infections.
Special care should always also be taken when it comes to heat and exercise especially during warmer summer months. 
For long haired or Furry Frenchie puppies they will need to be bathed and brushed a little more often.  Still, considered they are a fluffy version of the standard French bulldog, they are reasonably easy to maintain.

Do furry French Bulldogs shed a lot?

Overall, French bulldogs are considered low-shedding, short-haired dogs.  There is a gene called the LP Gene often referred to as the low propensity to shed gene.  Most higher level breeders like us only breed dogs that carry 2 copies of this gene.  If so, your furry Frenchie puppy should not shed a bit. 
However, there are a few different bloodlines of Frenchies that can shed worse than others. These dogs have no copies or only 1 copy of the low propensity to shed gene.  Fluffy Frenchies often have 1 copy or none and therefore may shed.  White this is normally true, they very well could have to copies of the LP gene and two copies of the L1 or L4 gene and therefore could have long haired AND not shed.

What is the lifespan of a furry French bulldog?

Overall the Fluffy has the same lifespan as the normal non long haired Frenchie.  Keep in mind that the average will be based on a healthy, normal sized Frenchie.  For the most part the considered healthy weight for a French Bulldog is 16-28 pounds. 

How long to French Bulldogs live?

If you get a good one, Frenchies should be long lived and easy to care for!  Normal height is 10 to 12 inches tall at the shoulder and better breeders breed for more compact, short dogs. The average French Bulldog lifespan is 10-14 years. At the same time, like people their life expectancy can be affected by many variables like diet, nutrition, exercise and genetics.
