A Classic color that is just beautiful within the Frenchie Breed is the Chocolate French Bulldog puppies for sale.  Chocolate is also part of the new Isabella program and is responsible now for some beautiful new colors.  These new colors, also known as new shade, or new shades are based on carrying either 1 or 2 copies of the Chocolate gene allele.

Chocolate Frenchie price point is on the higher end of the spectrum as they are considered very rare.  Be careful not to confuse cocoa with Chocolate as cocoa is different and almost black.  Chocolate French bulldog puppies are not only rare, they can come in may colors or variations of chocolate.  Some of the variations are listed below along with photos.  When we have chocolate pups available they usually sell the same day we list them on our website.  More often than not, these puppies are reserved the moment they are born, or sometimes in advance of the entire breeding!

Rojo Frenchie for sale

Another super popular variation of the chocolate gene is a Rojo Frenchie. Rojo is known for being a red chocolate and is considered extremely rare. Variations of the Rojo color include new shade, Rojo, Rojo, and Tan, and Rojo Merle.

In addition, you can find Rojo tricolor Merle, which is a tan pointed dog that carries the merle gene as well as the Rojo French Bulldog color base coat. Goober for example is referred to is a Rojo tricolor Merle with cherry tan points due to his two copies of intensity, making his tan points extremely vibrant, and a deep orange-ish red color.

Super rare and super cute, extremely breathtaking and especially when merle a Chocolate Frenchie is one of a kind.  These little nuggets are super cute and have such a deep beautiful coat.  Many times we have them with tan points and we think they may be even cuter that way! Keep in mind that some low quality hobby breeders refer to the much cheaper cocoa and tan as chocolate when it is certainly not the same DNA based color pallet.

Definitely more rare, the Chocolate Frenchie price is going to be on the higher end of the spectrum.  Usually the Chocolate Frenchie cost will hover between 8000 and 12000 depending on the genetics, the particular breeding and if the puppies are fluffy.

While not always available, we do work with Chocolate carrying females and have beautiful chocolate pups from time to time.  The shade of chocolate being a milk chocolate color rather than dark more often than not. From time to time we have brown shade and brown shade tan babies available as well.  The AKC does not recognize “chocolate” on it’s own so typically you are just registering them under one of the generic, older and listed colors.

How rare is a chocolate French bulldog?

Fairly rare! These little chocolate puppies are more expensive than most other colors of Frenchies due to how rare they are.  While both parents must carry the chocolate gene we as breeders refer to as “testable chocolate” that does not guarantee a choc colored puppy. In fact, most of the time because nearly all chocolate dogs carry blue, there is only 1-2 puppies even from that litter that are visibly chocolate in color.  Other variations also occur like Rojo, new shade Rojo, Isabella and new shade Isabella to name a few colors that are related to the choc gene.

How much is a chocolate French bulldog?

This depends on a few factors including the particular breeding, the parents cost, the genetics over all.  Do they carry fluffy? Are they visibly fluffy, or do they carry the fluffy gene, etc.

What is a Chocolate Frenchie called?

It is the c locus we called it testable chocolate to be exact.

What color of Frenchie is most expensive?

As of this publication, new shade Rojo which is a variation of a chocolate French bulldog puppy is the most expensive.  Add in fluffy and it will cost around 40% more than without.  So a “new shade Rojo Fluffy French bulldog puppy” or the merle version of that will be around the most expensive French bulldog colors.

Are chocolate Frenchies rare?

Yes.  They certainly are.  Around 1 out of every 500 Frenchie puppies for sale born in the USA are Chocolate in color.  So consider it pretty darn rare.  Rare Frenchie colors are always going to be in demand as there is much less supply.  For this reason they also are going to be some of the highest French bulldog prices you will find.

How much is a chocolate French bulldog worth?

Anywhere from 8000-20,000 depending on the breeding, if they carry the fluffy gene, and if they are merle.  Female French bulldogs for sale are typically more expensive than males.

What are the health issues with a chocolate French bulldog?

Like most bulldogs, the common health issues include cherry eye, nasal passages that need to be opened, elongated soft pallet, and more.  Do not worry however, because high quality French bulldog breeders do not produce any puppies with these issues!
